Pixie - When we agreed the colour scheme for our site we used Pixie colour picker to ensure that the correct colours were applied across the site
Mendeley is an reference manager. It allows you to save and annotate journals and generates references and citations. By creating groups in Mendeley it's possible to share journals with other students. It's possible to mark a folder on your laptop or PC as a watch folder. All journals saved to the watch folder will also be saved to Mendeley.
We used wikispaces as a means to share documents and communicate. I found it very intuitive to use. The messages posted allowed us to keep track on what was agreed and looking back on the threads it's possible to review how we came to our decisions.
Yola is the platform used to host our website. By dragging and dropping widgets on the web page it's possible to build the page and add content.
Xtranormal was used to create content for our site. It creates text to speech based computer animated video clips.
We created a studyskills dropbox account to allow us upload any content we were unable to upload directly to the Yola site. By embedding the drop box link to the content on the Yola site it was possible to create content in a number of different formats and view it on the Yola site
Articulate Presenter and Quizmaker were used to create content for the site.
Our storyboard was uploaded to slideshare. By embedding the link in my portfolio it was possible to upload the presentation in a format that would allow the user to view the full presentation
Initially when we found that we were unable to upload articulate files to our website it was decided to create the content using screenr instead. Screenr is very intuitive to use and embed into the site. Although we found a way around uploading articulate content to the site it was decided to continue to use screenr for other content where appropriate
